Simple and Practical
I've tried the Evans muffle rings. I've tried the Rem-O's. I've tried paper towels taped onto the head. None of them compare to Moongel, because Moongel is the most effective and simple. Not only are they small and easy to apply, but they can be just as helpful as the muffle rings. The great part is the fact that you can alter how much you want to muffle, as well as the drum pitch merely by moving the pad around the head, and closer/further from the center of the head. It's as simple as that, and it leaves much room for custom sound shaping.The very reasonably priced pack comes in a portable, cute little thingy with 4 Moongel pads inside. Priced at a little over a buck per gel, these are most definiely the best bang for your buck. As a special bonus, they are reusable even after extensive use. All it takes is a simple soap and water wash, and you're good to go again. Considering the fact that each pad can be reused about 5 or 6 times, that's 4 drums muffled for a couple...

Great product, but a bit pricey
I used some of these on a session a while back, and thought they worked great. But, when I bought some myself, I was a little surprised to pay $10. I'm a recording engineer, so they don't last as long as they might if you left them on one kit forever. Anyway, I quickly realized they were made of the same stuff as those sticky 'wallwalker' type toys that you see at the grocery store. So, I spent $1, and used some scissors to cut a toy octopus into pieces. They work great, and at that price, I can let drummers keep them. Plus, I kind of like the tentacle shape. I find that as you move the pad towards the center of the drum, the sound gets tighter and less ringy. Putting one of these just outside of the center of a very ringy snare will tame it better than tape, o-rings, or anything else I've heard.

Great Read on the kindle but...
It comes through really nicely on the kindle and is an easy read. It would be great if we could click on the images in the articles and zoom in on them although I think this may be a kindle limitation. My but from the subject howeever is for some of the words being incorrect in the articles. It's fustrating reading a good article and then you suddenly come on a broken\mispelt word. Fix this and definately 5 star!Great start though.

No 1 African quality paper available everywhere
It's a pleasure to be able to read Africa's No 1 quality newspaper, M&G, wherever you are and not only when you hit a newsstand in South Africa or on an international airport. Congratulations to Amazon and to the Mail & Guardian teams. We all know the limitations of the Kindle but I bear with them because this mainly about reading and not watching pictures. A bit annoying, though: why are graphic elements such as diagrams pictured on an image that is smaller than the Kindle screen witdth would allow thereby making it impossible to read the text written on them? I believe this should be easy to fix.

While some choose to use other maps APIs (like Bing Maps, for example), the vast majority go with Google Maps because it’s baked right in and easy to hook up. If that changes…. As you’ve undoubtedly seen by now, with the upcoming iOS 6 software, Apple intends to replace the Google Maps aspect of their default Maps application with their own, in-house version. Of course, Apple will have to ensure that their mapping product is flawless, or developers will choose to go with Google Maps anyway (assuming that’s still an option — even if it’s slightly more complicated). At the same time, they made a point of saying they weren’t switching away from Google Maps on their mobile applications (where maps are obviously the most important). Google recently made the change to start charging high volume customers of the Google Maps API on the web. But the side effect of such a switch could seriously harm Google Maps as the de-facto mapping service. Think of it like Google Street View — cool, but how often do you actually use it when compared to the regular Google Maps product. Let’s assume that alongside this change, Apple will also be replacing the default hooks in the iOS SDK that currently use Google Maps. And if Apple not only pulls iOS out, but takes millions of developers with them, Google Maps could suddenly go from behemoth to vulnerable. My guess would be that because of iOS, Apple may be the largest user of the Google Maps API right now. (Having said that, I still expect Apple’s 3D maps to be cooler than Google Street View.
